Perhaps one of the most iconic images of the Canadian prairies is the grain elevator. Standing proudly and prominently in many prairie towns these elevators were a symbol of the towns themselves as well as a representation of the agriculture community. . Memories of these landmarks, once as iconic in small towns as the local hockey rink, are sadly the only thing left in many cases.
